Terms and condition for purchases at the FACTUM Books webshop,

§ Ordering

You select the goods you want to buy and add them to the shopping basket. You can correct the content of your order right up to the purchase obligation (Confirm and Pay).

When you complete an order, you will receive an automatic receipt of your order, as well as an order confirmation with an overview of your orders. The order confirmation is an electronic receipt of your order for common reference for buyer and seller.

When placing an order, you agree that the amount shown must be reserved in your bank. The money is only finally withdrawn when we ship your order.

We reserve the right to cancel orders due to out-of-stock items, typos, technical problems, delivery failures and similar situations, but you will always be contacted by us in these cases.

§ Payment
You can pay using the following options:

Cards / mobilepay

You can pay online with Dankort, Visa, Mastercard and MobilPay.

For card payment/Mobilepay, the approved amount is reserved at your account. Invoice

Companies and institutions can apply to use invoices for payment.

As an invoice customer, your company/institution registers as a user on factumbooks.dk and uses this login to order books. From here, all employees can order books from a common account or accounts per department.  

You have to be approved for invoicing by reaching out to us on info@factumbooks.dk. And you have to be registered with a VAT (CVR) numer or GLN (EAN).

We reserve the right to reject applications for invoicing without further justification.

Gift Cards

If you have received or purchased a valid gift card for Factum Books, you can use this as a form of payment at factumbooks.dk, unless otherwise stated on the gift card or when issuing it.

Gift cards generally have an expiry date of 1 year from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated. It is always the date specified on the gift card itself that applies.

§ Reminder fee / Interest

If payment is not made on time and after receiving a reminder, you can be subjected to a reminder fee of DKK 100 pr reminder fee. If payment is still not made after the second reminder, the claim can be passed on to debt collection, and fees are imposed in accordance with the legislation in Denmark. In the event of delayed payment, interest is also imposed in accordance with the provisions of the Interest Act.

§ Pricing
All prices are DKK incl. VAT, but excl. delivery. We reserve the right to change prices and exchange rates as well as out-of-stock items. Furthermore, all shipping is based on delivery in Denmark.

If you order for delivery to foreign addresses, the freight must be calculated separately.

All our prices are based on the principle of “if the item is in stock”. With over 200,00 suppliers of books there may be cause for adjustments which we cannot ascertain until we enter a dialogue with the publishers. You will always be informed of price adjustments and we are under no circumstances able to raise a higher amount than the one you have approved at the time of purchase.

The purchase is only binding when both buyer and seller have accepted the price and delivery times. FACTUM Books will contact you without undue delay if there are errors or agreements that are, among other things, cannot be honored for the above reasons.

§ Delivery times

The delivery time appears with each individual item and must be regarded as an estimate.

Generally we only ship your order, when all items have been received and collected at our warehouse. This means that in certain cases we wait until all goods have arrived before the order is dispatched. It can therefore be an advantage for you to make separate orders for goods that have not yet been released or that have a longer or unknown delivery time.

If the item is in stock, it is sought to be dispatched on the same day as the order is placed - if the order is placed before 12.00. Otherwise the next day.

f the item is not in stock when you order it, we will acquire it. The delivery time for Danish books is currently approx. 1-2 weekdays and foreign books approx. 5-9 working days. The delivery time depends on the individual publisher's turnaround time, and special books such as print-on-demand, rare books, collectibles etc. will usually have a longer delivery time.

Additional information about delivery time, new editions or discontinued books will be sent via email.

During the semester start periods (January/February and August/September) we’re under heavy pressure on orders and deliveries, and this may affect the delivery speed.

§ Delivery

You can choose either to have your order sent by post or choose free collection in one of our stores or collection points.

Delivery by post

Postal parcels are generally delivered with PostNord.

As soon as your order is dispatched from our warehouse, you will receive a message from us and PostNord with a tracking number to follow your delivery. You are responsible for ensuring that your information on the order is correct in order to receive notification of the shipment.

Deliveries to postal shops (without distribution) requires you to be able to pick up your order within a time limit (10-14 days), otherwise it will be sent back to us and you will have to repurchase postage – but you’ll be contacted by our employees in this instance.

As a general rule packages are sent without distribution (to postal shops). We have established that this actually provides the fastest delivery. A very large proportion of our customers are not at home when PostNord arrives. You then have to go to the post office to pick up your package - which will only be able to be picked up with a one-day delay.

Pickup at our stores / delivery points

You have the option of choosing to pick up your order at one of our delivery locations or stores for free.

You will receive a message from us as soon as your order is ready for pickup.

If you do not pick up your order within the deadline or are contactable regarding your order, it will not automatically be refunded to you.

§ Receiving your items

As a customer, you yourself are responsible for reviewing received packages for content, damage, errors and defects.

On receipt of your goods, please check that all goods on your order have been received and are in good condition. Should an item be missing (which you have not been notified of) or should an item be damaged, you must reach out to us per mail or telephone as soon as possible or at the latest within 14 days of receipt. In this way, you ensure that the fault can be traced and corrected with us, and that fraud is not suspected.

§ Right of return and cancellation
FACTUM Books follows the rules applicable at all times regarding trade via the Internet for consumer purchases. As a general rule, these rules put a private consumer better than ordinary business conditions for Business to Business customers. For Business to Business see the return conditions at the end.

This currently means 14 days right of return from receipt of the item. The item must be returned in perfect condition and you must be able to present a valid copy of the receipt/invoice.

When your order is ready for pickup, you are advised to collect it within 14 days or notify us in the event of delays. If you do not pickup your items at all, your purchase will not be automatically cancelled.

The return costs are at your expense. Regardless of whether you have actually collected the item - or refused receipt. This means that if you refuse receipt, you will be charged for the original delivery as well. order confirmation and return shipping corresponding to between DKK 45 and 65 depending on the weight of the package.

Returns must be made without undue delay and no later than 14 days after you have notified us that you wish to cancel your purchase. The deadline is met if you return the goods before the expiry of the 14 days.

When returning, you should ensure that the goods are securely wrapped. You are responsible for the package/goods yourself until we receive them. Therefore, always save the postal receipt as well as any track and trace number.

You are welcome to use your item and test it, but you must be aware that in case of cancellation of the purchase, canceled items must appear in faultless condition. As we, as an online store, do not have the opportunity to present a used item to a potential prospective buyer - we cannot pass on damaged goods. Returned goods must therefore be fault-free in order for us to refund any value. Used goods - can in principle be returned during the cancellation period. In such a situation, the value is what we as an online store can achieve with a possible prospective customer. Since, as I said, we are not dealers in used books, the value of used books will be DKK 0.

How to use your right of cancellation:

If you wish to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it and wishes to return it, you must firstly notify us of your cancellation by email – info@factumbooks.dk – in which you state the following:

- Your name

- Ordernumer (either you webordernr. 99xxxxxx, sales order number Sxxxxxx or invoice number ex. 751000)

- Why you want to return your items

- Wether you wishes to return your items via post or by dropping by one of our stores.

It is important that you give notice of the return, and not just send the item or refuse receipt. By giving notice of the return, you secure your right of return, even if your package should be delayed on its way to us and you avoid possible wrong returns and extraneous expenses.

On receipt of returned goods, we refund the purchase via the same payment method with which the purchase was made. It can take up to a week from the time we refund the amount and the bank has processed them for you.

When returning by post to our warehouse/stores, you are responsible for any return costs yourself. This means that if you refuse to receive the item, you will be charged for both the original delivery cf. order confirmation, as well as return freight corresponding to between DKK 39-65 depending on the weight of the package. Postage labels for returns can be purchased here or in the way that is easiest for you, and please state your name and order number when purchasing. in the comment field, if possible - or attach order confirmation, note with order no. or similar so that we can identify your return upon receipt.

§ Complaints for defective goods

Your purchase is always covered by the Purchase Act. This means that you can either get a defective item repaired, exchanged, your money back or a discount, depending on the specific situation. It is a requirement that the complaint is justified and that the defect did not arise as a result of incorrect use of the product or other damage-causing behaviour.

Under the Purchase Act, you always have a two-year right of complaint. This means that you have the right to complain to the store about faults and defects in the product for two years in relation to the defect.

As a starting point, we will try to replace the damaged item with an intact copy.

Returning a defective item must always be done with prior agreement with FACTUM Books. When contacting us, we ask you to describe the defect and the problem in as much detail as possible, so that we have the best conditions for assessing the damage and remedying the problem.


Business to Business - we would like to be as flexible as possible. But we also have to make reservations for special circumstances that mean that we cannot always give the same guarantee as for private customers, including that we can rarely combine a return with another return. Furthermore, some B2B books can only be purchased under special conditions. The costs associated with a possible return will be deducted in a possible crediting. Returns can therefore only be made by prior agreement.


§ GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)
FACTUM Books only stores order history and invoicing in accordance with applicable accounting legislation.

I.e. that we store copies of invoices for 5 years in our ERP system.

Upon expiry of the legal obligation to document accounting legislation, all order history is also deleted.

FACTUM Books does not share customer information with third parties.

FACTUM Books will send you a follow-up email after completing your order, and in relevant cases information about upcoming semester start literature. 

§ Digital Items – ebooks and i-books

Digital products such as e-books and i-books are delivered via your provided email with a download link. You will first receive an order confirmation and then an email to activate your products. The delivery time for e-books is approx. 10 minutes from making the purchase and for i-books up to 48 hours.

§ Right of return – digital items

When purchasing e-books and i-books, you waive the right of cancellation.

§ Rights to digital items

The granted access to the product entitles you, within the legal framework, to use the purchased products for personal use. By purchasing, you confirm that you agree that it is illegal to share digital versions with other users, unless this is included in your purchase of the product.

You should also be aware that most e-books come with limited printing and copying rights (usually it is not possible to print more than 30 pages per 30 days).

§ System requirements

Using e-books and i-books requires you to have equipment with internet access and possibly special software. It is your own responsibility that your device (whether PC, tablet, mobile or other) can use the digital editions in the format that the e-book in question requires. In addition, you must be aware that updates or upgrades of software and hardware may occur in order to continue using your goods.
